ism in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne....?

Really? You can't find ANYTHING? How about you start with how Hester is punished for having and a child out of wedlock, where a man (i.e. Dimmesdale) would not be punished (at least not ostracized so much). Secondly, you have to consider that all the people who seem to run the town are MALE and women are expected to obey them. There's tons more in the story......not sure how its not apparent. Maybe try actually reading the book instead of using sparknotes?
