Is a SAHM still a SAHM when the kids are older?
I understand the term "stay at home mom" to be appropriate when the kids are little. That's the main purpose in staying home, to take care of the kids. Even when the kids are in school, seems SAHM is the correct term, because the kids need supervision when they're home from school. But what happens when the kids are teenagers, very seldom home and have jobs of their own? Or when they graduate HS and are still at home? Are you still considered a SAHM? Or a housewife? On the tax form where it asks for occupation, do you put SAHM, housewife, none, unemployed? Just curious when SAHM stops being the job title. Thanks.
