Is there a way to hide your getting financial aid from your parents?
I told my mom my aunt would help me apply and she did. The day I went over there I told my mom and everything and she said fine. The next day my mom told me to cancel it because i dont need it. (she doesnt work and my dad's job hold us together comfortably) She said this because a) me annd her were not on good terms and b) shes not as close to my aunt as she used to be so there migh be a little jealousy. Everyone I talk to is saying I should just forget my mom and take the finacial aid becuase shes somewhat controling and that would be something she wont be able to control and she wont like it, wich is tru. I feel wierd lying to my mom, and I can honestly say I very rarley lie to her. Shes not a bad person, but when she isnt in charge or things dont happen as she wants them to she gets really upet. So now im wondering if I should just not continue the rest of the process(signing and sending in the forms) or if i should just get it without her knowing. My financial aid stuff will be sent to my aunts house so she wont find out by mail, and if i have new things I could say my bf got it for me or I bought it with my babysitting money, Also i was a little "creative" on the app, and was wondering if they find out, whats the worse that could happen. Btw, im 18, in college, live at home and somewhat of a "goody two shoes" i guess you could say. Is there another way she could find out? should i just turn in the forms?
